Melaka River Cruise started operations in 2006 as an effort to promote the tourism industry in Melaka.The idea for this cruise comes from the Melaka River which has a long history as a source of life and a center of trade for the people of Melaka since the time of the Melaka Sultanate. This river witnessed many important events in Malacca's history, including colonization by the Portuguese, the Dutch, and the British, as well as the struggle against colonialism.

WHAT ARE THE OPERATION HOURS?
Our operation hours are from 9.00am to 11.30pm, Monday to Sunday.
IS THE RIVER CRUISE OPEN DURING PUBLIC AND SCHOOL HOLIDAY?
We are open daily from Monday to Sunday, including Public and School Holidays.
HOW LONG THE DURATION OF THE CRUISE?
The river cruise is a 45-minute round-trip and covers 9 kilometres.
DO YOU HAVE SPECIFIC DRESS CODE?
Although we do not have a dress code policy, it is advisable to wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes to make it easier for you to embark and disembark the river cruise boats.
CAN I BRING FOOD ONBOARD?
We recommend bottled water for you to rehydrate and to ensure your comfort, as well as the comfort of other passengers who would be joining you on the cruise. We would like everyone to have a wonderful river cruise experience.
IS THE RIVER CRUISE SUITABLE FOR THE FAMILIES AND KIDS?
We ensure that our river cruise is suited for families and children, as long as kids under 12 are properly chaperoned by an adult.
CAN I GET A MOTION SICKNESS FROM THE RIVER CRUISE?
The Melaka River waters are calm and still and ensures a comfortable journey for our passengers. We advise you to take precautionary measures if you are sensitive to motion sickness

WHERE CAN I PURCHASE TICKETS?
You can purchase the tickets at our River Cruise Ticketing Counters located at the Spice Garden (Taman Rempah) or Dataran Muara Sungai Melaka. Alternatively, you can use the online ticketing option on this website.
HOW MUCH DO THE TICKETS COST?

DO I HAVE TO BOOK THE TICKET IN ADVANCE?
You can purchase the tickets on the date of your cruise at the ticketing counters mentioned.
ARE INFANTS APPLICABLE FOR TICKET CHARGES?
Complimentary (free) entry is applicable to infants aged 2 and below.
CAN I COME BEFORE OFFICIAL OPENING HOURS TO PURCHASE THE TICKETS?
Tickets over the counter can only be purchased during official operation hours, starting at 9.00am daily.
HOW LONG ARE THE TICKETS VALID FOR?
Tickets are only valid for the duration of the purchased date.
IF I DONT USE THE TICKET ON THE DATE I CHOSE, CAN I USE THEM IN THE FUTURE?
Since the tickets are only valid for the duration of the purchased date, the tickets will be considered null and void if you were to use it on another date. You can purchase new tickets for the date that you are available to enjoy the cruise.
PAYMENT
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
Purchased tickets are non-refundable, unless we encounter unforeseen circumstances from our operations on the date of your cruise. In this event, we will advise you on the refund process.
DO YOU ACCEPT FOREIGN CURRENCY?
All transactions are in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) only. You can exchange your foreign currency to the required currency at any authorised money changer/currency exchange agency in Melaka or within Malaysia.
CAN I USE DEBIT/CREDIT CARD TO PURCHASE THE TICKETS?
We accept all major Debit/Credit cards for the purchase of online tickets. For payment over the counter, we apply a CASH-only policy in Ringgit Malaysia (RM).
SAFETY AND SECURITY
ARE THE BOATS STURDY?
Our river cruise boats are inspected and maintained frequently to ensure they are safety compliant and fit for use.
DO YOU HAVE OTHERS SAFETY FEATURES ON THE BOATS?
We provide life jackets which fits the ratio to passengers per boat.
DO YOU OVERCROWD YOUR BOATS?
As a safety measure, we always adhere to the maximum limit of allowed passengers per boat. We want our passengers to feel safe and secure while enjoying our river cruise experience.
HOW DO WE KNOW WHEN IT IS SAFE TO EMBARK AND DISEMBARK THE BOATS?
There is a supervisor at the embarkation/disembarkation point to ensure that the boats are docked properly. He/she will inform you when it is safe to embark or disembark your boat.
